Saturday, May 28, 2005 was a new day in the history of the Congregation of the Mission Midwest Province. That morning at 10:00 a.m., the first Kenyan Vincentians were ordained priests for the Province while nearly 1,200 guests joined together to celebrate this historical occasion.
The celebration took place at St. John the Evangelist Church in Langata, Nairobi with the Most Reverend Anthony Ireri, IMC, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Nairobi, serving as the ordaining prelate. Father James Swift, CM, Provincial Superior of the Midwest Province, together with the Vincentians stationed in Kenya concelebrated the Mass.
