Our next stop was St. Vincent de Paul, a truly amazing find for bargain hunters at 2824 N. Monroe. St. Vincent is great not only because it has nearly every item a college student could wish for, but it’s also for a good cause; it finances Family Services Center and Food Bank, which assists 4,000 to 6,000 people a month.
It was here that our luck began to turn for the better. In the reduced section of the clothing area, we discovered an awesome button-up knit sweater for $5 and some stylish Italian sandals for $1.98.
St. Vincent de Paul is also the place for designer clothing at cheap, cheap, cheap prices. In the course of one trip we found brands such as Roxy, Anchor Blue, Nordstrom and Banana Republic clothing.
Not only does St. Vincent offer high-end threads for a low-end cost, it’s practically a department store of bargains: Need books? St. Vincent de Paul. Need dishes? St. Vincent de Paul. Need a wig? St. Vincent de Paul has it.
