Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati Conference members were so inspired by the life and achievements of Society member Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati that they decided to name their conference after him, with the intention of carrying on his spirit in their work. Pier Georgio gave selflessly throughout his short life (he died aged 24) and became a member of the St Vincent de Paul Society at the age of 17 by dedicating his spare time to helping the sick and the poor. He ignored his family’s wealth (one of the three richest families in Italy); giving what money and time he had to help the poor.
