Microsoft Australia is giving more than $2 million worth of software so the Society can better share information across its members and volunteers nationwide and enhance its information technology infrastructure.
The software will be used to address the needs of the Society in vital areas like finance, fundraising and
people management.
In particular, it will be a major cog in the development in NSW/ACT of the Society’s information system, known as the Good Works Information System (GWIS).
If it were not for the generosity of Microsoft in providing this support we could not have proceeded with the rollout of GWIS to its fullest extent.
Microsoft Australia’s donation has been given as part of the Unlimited Potential Program, an initiative designed to help people and organisations access technology and develop technology skills through community-based initiatives.
The Society was thrilled to receive a visit from Sarah Hatcher, Microsoft Australia’s citizenship director, who presented the donation to the Society’s national president, John Meahan.
She said: “At Microsoft we take great pride in being able to help Australian businesses, charities, communities and governments capitalise on the opportunities presented through technology.”
This donation has begun a new beneficial relationship with Microsoft.
Microsoft Australia’s support of the new information system has been of crucial assistance as we continue on our journey of very significant change to ensure that the Society can continue its mission of providing hope, dignity and relief to people in crisis into the future.
