Amidst great joy, with the music and dancing that accompanies happy events on the continent of Africa, the Mary Immaculate Collection was blessed by Most Rev. David Kamau Ng’ang’a, Auxiliary Bishop of Nairobi, on Tuesday, March 23, 2005. The blessing was the conclusion of the “Tangaza Day” celebrations at Tangaza College, one of the constituent colleges of the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA), where the collection is housed. We processed together from an outdoor celebration of Eucharist, into the Library building under the watchful gaze of a portrait of Joe McClain, and the loving eyes of a new mosaic of Mary Immaculate, constructed by local artists, for the Library.
