Thursday, 3 February 2005 – Book borrowers in Blayney have contributed six cartoons of tined food to the local St Vincent Society charity in lieu of paying outstanding fines.

The Food For Fines program organised by Blayney Librarian Marian Bamgarten will give the charity enough food for the next six to eight weeks to fill food parcels distributed to local families in need, president of St Vinnies Peter Sutton said on Monday when receiving the boxes from the Library. Each week Peter Sutton and his team distribute anywhere from one to four food parcel to families in the local community
