Dear friends and volunteers of AIC,
There are only few days left until Christmas, the feast of joy, when we will celebrate the incarnation of Christ. As always the cradle and the Holy Family will be in the heart of our celebrations: Saint Mary, Saint Joseph and the divine child.
However, even in the time when Jesus was born the situation was not as idyllic as we might image from the pictures. Already then His birthplace which is nowadays struck by tragic conflicts, was not a place of peace. Flight, homelessness and persecution stood not only at the beginning of Jesus’ presence on earth, they are still marking the life of men everywhere in the present world. In Iraq,Sudan, Congo and Tschetchenia bloody conflicts determine the daily life, in Ukraine people are fighting for freedom and in many countries persecution and injustice are reigning.
