SYDNEY, October 22, 2004 (coss.net.au): New research has been released from the Giving Australia project, “Summary of Key Data September 2004”, which details the level and type of giving in Australia… and compares similar issues in the US/GIVING AUSTRALIA PROJECT

The report contains the results of seeking answers to such questions as:
How much are individuals and business giving to community organisations?
How do individuals and business give (for example, partnerships/community projects, sponsorship, donation of money, donation of goods/services, volunteering)?
How are individuals and business approached to give (that is, how they are asked)?
what are the attitudes of individuals and businesses to giving?
The report also indicates that attitudes in the USA are strongest in terms of expecting everyone to give to charities (at 23%). However, at 20% Australia ranks fairly highly compared with to New Zealand and the UK (16%). A summary of the report can be downloaded from:
