MEDFORD — Rogue Valley St. Vincent de Paul held a kick-off celebration July 17 for its Beacon of Hope capital improvement drive.More than 100 people turned out to mark the beginning of the charity’s $2.3 million construction and renovation project.
The society plans to build a new 16,000-square-foot thrift store, double the size of its homeless shelter, and improve the existing dining room, food pantry and social service offices.
“We’ve just outgrown our existing facilities,” says Bill Schueller, the 73-year-old president of the council. “We have more and more people to serve each year.”
