On June 24-27, one hundred twenty-five Associates and SCNs from 12 States and the two countries of Belize and India, gathered at Nazareth for the 2004 SCN Associate Convocation entitled ñThe Sacred Rhythm of Our Lives.î Evelyn and James Whitehead, internationally known consultants in education and ministry, addressed the topic ñCelebrating the Ordinary Mysteries.î During their three presentations on Saturday, June 26, the Whiteheads explored the rhythms in daily life that reveal and shape our experience of God.

Four Workshops, related to the theme of integrating prayer and life, were offered on Friday, June 25th. ñFinding the Vincentian Spirit on the Internetî by Fr. John Freund, C.M. raised awareness of the rich resources for personal prayer and growth in Vincentian spirituality available on the web. ñheART and Soulî by Luke Boiarski, SCN, helped participants to discover art as an expression of oneÍs spirituality. In a workshop entitled, ñItÍs Hard to Hear God When the Radio Is On,î Carolyn Goddard, SCN Associate related the basics of centering prayer as a means of growing in a contemplative spirit. In ñSpiritSeekers-EarthKeepersî by Dr. Janet MacLean, SCN Associate, participants learned of personal responsibility in being part of a great Earthlife system that cares for itself as a whole.

The Convocation concluded with a Eucharistic celebration on Sunday, June 27.
