About the Massive Effort Campaign
A new global non-profit organisation has been established to catalyse the emergence of a social movement against AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other diseases of poverty. The Massive Effort Campaign (MEC) empowers a much larger global movement that will not tolerate the injustice that more than ten million people die every year for lack of effective medicines and supplies costing $ 10 or less.
The Massive Effort Campaign was established on 10th September 2001 with a board of directors and group of founding members representing the private sector and NGO community. The Massive Effort team functions as a network with a small core group of professional staff supported by a wide range of experts giving inputs when required. The network is focusing its activities in three areas :
1. Mobilizing healthy behaviour
2. Global advocacy
3. Partnership building
Core values of the Massive Effort Campaign
• Add value by supporting the work of partners
• Encourage creativity and innovation
• Create markets for health, putting private sector partnerships into action
• Use the most effective means available for social change
• Measure success by achieving results for those living in poverty
