The Sisters of Charity of New York have 5 stained glass windows available if anyone is interested.Sr. Regina Murphy SC writes…
We (SC-NY) are in the process
of replacing stained glass windows in our vacation house in
Stanfordville, NY with clear glass to allow for more light in the room.
There are 5 stained glass windows (6ft. high by 3 ft. wide). 2 of them
are in one solid piece each, one the traditional picture of Vincent
dePaul and the other of the Immaculate Conception.
As I was contacting
antique dealers up in Dutchess County, I thought that maybe someone in
the Vincentian family would be interested in buying them? Anyone
remodeling chapels or building buildings?
We don’t have any history of the windows. They’re not Tiffany or
anything fancy like that but they’re pretty and the colors are very
lovely. There’s no signature on the windows but they go back to probably
the 1920’s.
Of course, the windows are in Dutchess County, which might
present a problem, but I thought that I would contact you before I get
back to the antiques auctioneer. I’d be grateful if you would let me know
if you think there are any possibilities.”
Regina has indicated to me that she does have pictures of the windows and will try to send them to me.
