“Let Humility Be Your Password” –
an article by Vie Thorgren, Director of the Vincentian Center for Spirituality and Work, Denver, Colorado
“There is one question that I am asked more than any other. “How do I know what God wants me to do with my life?” This question surfaces often in the context of spiritual direction sessions. It is the core issue for people who attend our spirituality and work luncheons. Repeatedly, it is also on the lips of the women that I serve at the state prison.
“In the process of supporting others in their life journey, I have learned once again the importance of the virtue of humility. Humility is the password to knowing our calling. Humility “grounds” us and opens the way. Apart from humility we are unable to recognize the signs and affirmations that the Spirit sends our way.
HUMILITY?!?! What does humility have to do with one’s calling?
