More than 140 Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will go to Washington, DC in February 2004. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will join the Catholic Social Gathering, scheduled in conjunction with the Society’s Midyear meeting, the agenda provides Vincentians with opportunities to speak as the voice of the poor; to brush up on advocacy skills; to hear from top Catholic Leaders, journalists and politicians on current issues impacting poor families and children at home and abroad; and to engage in in-depth analysis of specific public policy issues. The St. Vincent de Paul Society joins the US Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Department of Social Development and World Peace as well as 12 National Catholic Organizations.
