The International site of the Association of the Miraculous Medal features a new translation of the presentation made by Fr. Quintano, CM “A RE-READING OF THE MESSAGE OF THE RUE DU BAC FOR OUR TIMES”
In the first part I will treat why it is necessary to justify doing a re-reading of the message of Saint Catherine for our times. The re-reading attempts to understand the message in the way the Church deals with “private revelations” and from the contributions of human sciences.
In the second part I will speak of the message of the Rue du Bac and I will focus on the Medal as the privileged representation of this message.
And in the third part I will make a re-reading of that message in the light of the letter that the Pope has addressed to the whole church on the occasion of closing the Jubilee Year (January 6, 2001). In it, John Paul II points out the fundamental guidelines that should inspire all the pastoral projects at the beginnings of the third millennium.
And in this re-reading it will also be necessary to present Saint Catherine’s identity and ours in the Church. We are followers of Christ in the footsteps of Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac, that is to say, according to our specific charism in the Church.
