I am very pleased to meet you, Sister Evelyne Franc. On Pentecost Monday, June 9th this year, the delegates of the 23,000 Daughters of Charity, the well-known Sisters of Saint Vincent de Paul, gathered in Paris and they elected you their Superioress General.
That makes you the 55th Superioress General since Louise de Marillac. You have kindly agreed to be with us this evening and you are going to help us to look at what is happening today in a Christian way; with your help we are going to speak about the current situation of the Daughters of Charity who are present in 93 countries in the world.
