Sad as it may seem, commercialism is knocking at the gates of many schools. The old noble
concept of a liberating education is giving way to crass materialism prompting pundits to sound the alarm on many occasions.
One can not fault schools for biting the materialist cake. Survival is at stake. They are not exempted from the same problems confronting many business entities that are under siege from fluctuating business trends and other macroeconomic factors such as falling income, globalization, and rising prices.
Yet Adamson University is not losing track of its vision and mission to rise above the order of the day. Just this year, a whooping 50 million pesos spread out to various scholarships are being allotted to make sure socially-disadvantaged youths can make it through college minus the hassles of paying their tuition fees.
