Carl Schulte, CM writes “This year the Vincentian Family Celebration of the Feast of St. Vincent in the Kansas City area was hosted by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Kansas, a branch of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Kentucky.”Sister Marie de Paul Combo, SCL gave a reflection on St. Vincent which impressed me deeply. …

We have only five C.M.’s here in the Mission house with three attached members – two locally and one in the Chicago area. The Daughters have four members in Kansas City. The Ladies of Charity have a couple of good groups – one here and one in St. Joseph. Mo.. The St. VIncent dePaul Society, once very large, is now down to our or five parishes in the entire dioces. And so the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth bolster the spirit of St. Vincent not only in the two Kansas City dioceses (MO and KS) but extensively throughout the States. They have a deep devotion to St. Vincent their Patron.

Editor’s Note: Sr. Marie Combo’s reflection came through a bit garbled in the fax so I am asking that it be resent.
