This International Council of the Associations of the Miraculous Medal held its second meeting in Rome on 23-24 July. The participants included Frs. Robert Maloney, Benjamín Romo, Charles Shelby (Coordinator), Janusz Zwolinski; Sr. Marie-Yonide Midy and Ms. Marta Tapia.
During the meeting the participants shared the different activities that had been carried out since October 2002 and also dialogued about ways to increase the participation of young people in this Association.
In light of the Final Document from the Meeting in Rome (2001), the members of the Council evaluated the work of the Association up to the present time.
They anticipate that by October they will be able to initiate various activities that have been programmed: activation of the web page, distribution of an informational bulletin (three times a year), utilization of the web site for the monthly publication of a theme for the formation of the members of the Association which will be distributed to the national associations and the development of a catechetical plan for orienting the foundation of the Association.
During this meeting two important points were highlighted: contact with the AMM in the different countries has increased to 51 and 12 of these have National Statutes that have been approved.
The next meeting of the Coordinating Council of the AMM will be held in Paris, 23-25 February 2004.
