The confreres of the Province of Curitiba are celebrating the first centenary of the arrival of the Polish confreres to southern Brazil (Paraná). In 1903, they were invited by the first Bishop of Curitiba to care for the Polish immigrants in Paraná. Later on the bishops confided the responsibility of several diocesan seminaries, and also numerous parishes, to the Congregation of the Mission.

Fr. Lourenço Biernaski, C.M., in the book: Quem foram, o que fizeram, esses missionaries… describes, in 266 pages, the life of these confreres who, like Abraham, left their land without knowing what awaited them, confiding completely in He who called them. The principal celebrations of this jubilee will be held this coming 1-7 July.
