Delegates at 1997 Assembly
News of the upcoming Assembly from the international website of the Daughters of Charity…”The Company of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, after three years of preparation, is ready for the important event of their General Assembly that will take place from May 20th to June 22nd, 2003. The Assembly will be preceded by a Retreat for prayer, reflection and a deep encounter with the Lord.

“Preparations for the Assembly began in May 2000 during the Visitatrices (Provincials) meeting in Rome. In June of the same year the entire Company of the Daughters of Charity began intense personal study of their Constitutions and Statutes. From October 2001 until March 2002 each local community held their Domestic Assembly and from March to September 2002 the Provincial Assemblies took place.
“The 183 Sisters participants in the Assembly, Visitatrices and Delegates from 78 canonical provinces coming from 93 countries, are already arriving to our Mother House in Paris.
“This Assembly, of which the principal role is “to evaluate and promote fidelity to the specific charism and apostolic vitality of the Company and to elect the Superioress General and her Council”, has chosen the theme “Revise to Revitalize”.
