The Vincentian Housing Partnership, also known as ‘Rendu Apartments’ provides good quality, rented accommodation for people in the age group 20 -50 who are experiencing poverty or who can not otherwise get access to affordable accommodation. Volunteers, the directors and staff of the project provide personal support to people as they aim to improve their quality of life and in their search for suitable accommodation. This project is a collaborative initiative of the Vincentians, the Daughters of Charity and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
A newly launched report on the project, entitled ‘Key to a Future’ evaluates the service and highlights the experiences of 52 people who have made their home in Rendu Apartments since it opened in 1995. The study shows that residents were satisfied with the personal support they received from the staff and volunteers of the centre and found it a comfortable, safe place to live.
