KÖNIGSTEIN, Germany, AUG. 27, 2002 (Zenit.org).- A marketplace on the Internet for Catholic TV programs is now available.

It was organized by CRTN, the Catholic Radio and Television Network, a body established by the international Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need.

The head office of the charity has just announced that producers of Catholic television programs can now present their work at http://www.crtn.org.

As a result, TV channels anywhere that wish to broadcast Catholic programs can now contact the producers, via CRTN.

The project was funded by Aid to the Church in Need and by Signis, a Catholic organization for radio, television and film.

Aid to the Church in Need said it is responding to the rapid growth in recent years of Catholic television networks worldwide. Digitalization and decreasing costs have opened wide the door to the use of television by the Church.

CRTN was established in 1987, Aid to the Church in Need explains, “as a response to the wide-ranging changes in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Among the stations established by CRTN are the Russian channel Radio Blagovest; the Christian Channel, which is based in the school of journalism of Moscow State University; and Radio Voskresynna in Ukraine.
