The Vincentian Marian Youth write “As we approach the 2014 Lenten season, we invite you to make a special effort with regard to this campaign. If each members were to contribute one 1 Euro (about$1.40) as their Lenten sacrifice, we would achieve another 12% of our goal. With the matching fund we could make that 24%.”

PS The approach seems one that other groups could well adapt. It reminds me of the classic statement which said something like “Fast nickels are better than slow dimes!”
