The event , “Vincentian Youth International Gathering” (EIJV – Encontro Internacional da Juventude Vicentina ), brought together about a thousand members of the Vincentian Family from throughout the world. Sister Rizomar Figueiredo, DC – EIJV coordinator welcome all to this historic event.
Although the official language is Portuguese documents are being translated into Spanish, English and French.
Chilean and Brazilian Vincentians performed two songs in ‘flash mob’ style.
Fr. Nahass Alexandre Franco – Spiritual advisor Brazil’s National Council of Society of St. Vincent de Paul (NBC / SVP) – initiated activities with spiritual reflection. Representatives of the Vincentian family from 22 countries were invited to the stage which featured a cross (symbol of WYD) and a pair of sandals (representing the journey of pilgrims).
