1694. In Rome. Fr. Jean Martin dies. He was received into the Congregation by Vincent de Paul himself. Established missions in Geneva, Turin and Perugia. His sermons in Corso and Piedmont were also big success.

1820. In Ou-tchang-fou, the capital of Chinese province of Hou-Kouan. St. Francis Regis Clet is taken out of prison and lead to execution location. He is lead tied to cross shaped pillar. St. Francis was to be strangled, however the third attempt was effective. His dead body remained on the cross for three days after death and then was burried in the place fro criminals.

1918. In Paris. Fr. Alfred Louwyck, Vicar General of the Congregation of the Mission dies (entered the Congregation on October 16, 1876). He was a professor La Rochelle and l'Amiens seminaries.(od 8 loistopada 1917). In 1892 became Director of Internal and Scholasticate seminaries in Paris. In 1901 was appointed Visitor of the Province of France. Elected premiere assistant to Superior General -- Fr. Emilio Villet -- on November 8, 1917 during the 27th General Assembly.
