SACRED CONGREGATION FOR RELIGIOUS AND SECULAR INSTITUTES

Prot. n. P. 53-1/81

DECREE

The Congregation of the Mission, founded by St. Vincent de Paul, has the special apostolic purpose of preaching the gospel to the poor and promoting the formation of the clergy.

Adhering to the norms of the Second Vatican Council and other regulations of the Church, the Congregation of the Mission has by assiduous work prepared a new text of Constitutions, which the superior general has presented to the Holy See for approval.

The Sacred Congregation for Religious and Secular Institutes, therefore, having subjected the attached text of Constitutions to special examination, and considering the favorable vote of its commission, all things having been considered, by this Decree approves and confirms the text as it appears printed in Latin and preserved in its archives, all the required norms of law having been observed.

May God grant that all the members of the Congregation of the Mission, helped by divine grace, through the intercession of St. Vincent de Paul, and with a heart grateful to God, receive these new Constitutions as a firm means of progressing more and more in such a great work committed to them by the Church.

Given at Rome, from the office of the Sacred Congregation for Religious and Secular Institutes, on the 29th of June, the feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, in the year of Our Lord 1984.
