Michael Carroll CM padł ofiarą oszustwa internetowego.  Jego adres email został skradziony a dane adresowe  zostały wykorzystane do próby przestępstwa wyłudzenia pieniędzy pod pozorem pomocy Siostrom Słowa Wcielonego (Sisters of Incarnate Word) w Brazylii.

Jeżeli ktokolwiek  znajdzie w swojej skrzynce odbiorczej email  o treści, którą cytujemy w oryginalnym brzmieniu poniżej, PROSIMY O NIE ODPOWIADANIE NA TAKIEGO EMAILA. Zachęcamy ewentualnie o powiadomieniu policji o otrzymaniu takiej wiadomości jako próby oszustwa i przestępstwa internetowego lub o przesłanie otrzymanego emaila w całości (korzystając z funkcji “przekaż dalej/forward”) na adres orlprov@cmglobal.org

Treść fałszywego emaila:

Congregation of the Sisters on the Incarnate Word of San Antonio. She told me Sr Nina Lucia O’Reilly working with their Mission Hospital in Africa is currently stranded in Brazil after
she over used the Limit of her Visa Card. She is in Brazil to procure Medical equipments for their Mission Hospital. And because she does not have a bank account of her own
in Brazil the Sisters in San Antonio do not have any quick safe means of sending her the amount of money she urgently require.
