SCN Family writes “Communities of Catholic Sisters based in Ohio and Kentucky are calling on President Obama and Congress to work together to enact comprehensive immigration reform and State legislators to refrain from passing laws that would restrict the human rights of immigrants. To make their point, they have rented billboard space in cities and towns throughout Ohio and Kentucky, including billboards in Louisville. The billboards carry the message: “I was a stranger an immigrant and you welcomed me.” The billboards will remain for a month and the message, based on the words of Jesus, is taken from the Gospel of Matthew.

In keeping with St. Vincent who was an advocate for the poor, U.S. citizens are invited to contact their legislators with regard to budgeting decisions that promote the common good, protect the vulnerable and build the economy.
