On March 22, 20 confreres met in DePaul Evangelization Center (Montebello, California, USA) for a formation day. The program, organized by Michael Walsh, C.M., introduced the confreres to the growing movement “Misioneros Vicentinos”: a group of lay Catholics whose mission is to evangelize Christians who have been separated from Christ and the Church. During the meeting, several lay people shared their personal experience of conversion and explained their involvement in the lay mission movement. Antonio Ruiz, C.M., explained that this group assumed the name “Vicentinos,” based upon its mission to reach out to the poor, the lonely, and those suffering from various forms of addiction and family problems.
