The week of November 2-8 is Vocation Awareness Week in the USA. We are privileged to be able to celebrate this week with video interviews of two former Superiors General, Gregory Gay and Robert Maloney sharing their vocation stories.
As the first installment of post showing what the Vincentian Family is doing to foster Vocation Awareness enjoy this one minute video from Sr. Liz. ( Stay tuned for more from other branches.)
Vocation Awareness Week addresses a shortage of one particular kind of vocation. Everyone has a vocation. St. Paul puts it beautifully with his image of the Body of Christ and the many vocations within the kingdom of God. However, there is a real shortage of vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life .
Models of being holy – For all the saints – We all have a vocation to holiness. With all the variations of “takes this test to find out who you are….” Father Robert Maloney CM offer a serious invitation to identify which style of holiness fits you.
Is there really a vocation shortage? Yes… and No. In once sense there can be no vocation shortage. Everyone has a vocation. However, there is a real shortage of one particular type of vocation – vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life
