In Tanzania, a Home Becomes a Tangible Sign of Hope

In Mpepai, Ruvuma region of Tanzania, the 13 Houses for the Jubilee project is about to complete a home for a vulnerable family of ten. They will move from a fragile mud shelter to a safe, sustainable house. The active involvement of the parents and children has strengthened their sense of belonging and hope for a dignified, stable future.

In the city of Viña del Mar, the Naciones Unidas Camp has emerged, which is a settlement made up mostly of migrant families. After the devastating fire of February 2024, these families were left without homes, but not without hope. Accompanied by the Vincentian Family and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, a new chapter began: reconstruction.

13 Houses Jubilee Project: Vincentians Spreading Hope

In response to Pope Francis’s call for the 2025 Jubilee to be a sign of hope, the Vincentian Family launched the 13 Houses Jubilee Project to combat homelessness across all continents, with initiatives providing housing, education, and support to vulnerable communities. These projects embody Christian charity and solidarity, offering dignity and stability while uniting global Vincentian efforts to foster a culture of hope.

A Home to Begin Again: AIC Projects in the ’13 Houses’ Campaign by the Famvin Homeless Alliance

Many AIC associations have taken part in the Famvin Homeless Alliance’s “13 Houses” Campaign, launched end of 2018 to offer as many people as possible a place to call home.
