Sister Marta Wiecka, a Daughter of Charity born in Poland, lived only 30 years but left a luminous witness of holiness by her humble and joyful dedication to the sick, especially the poorest, always sustained by a deep life of prayer and Marian devotion. Even in the midst of slander and illness, her love for God and others was so radical that she died of typhus after replacing an employee in a dangerous task.
