On the evening of July 18, the vigil of the feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, around 11:30 p.m., Catherine was awakened by a soft voice calling her name. She opened her eyes and saw a child, perhaps five years old, glowing with celestial light. “Sister Labouré,” the child said, “come to the chapel. The Blessed Virgin is waiting for you.”

A historic ice storm struck Perryville, Missouri, on January 5, 2025, causing widespread damage, including $100,000 in repairs needed at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Despite fallen trees and cracked sidewalks, restoration efforts are underway, and Masses, along with the Visitor Center, have resumed, as the Shrine calls for prayers and support to recover this cherished spiritual site.
January 20, 1842: The Conversion of Alphonse Ratisbonne, Apostle of the Miraculous Medal
