The International Association of Charities in Japan supports projects with the Daughters of Charity in India and the Philippines, funding a new well for a children’s home in Bangalore and collaborating with the Rosalie Rendu Center on youth education and mental health. In Kobe, its community garden builds connections and raises funds to sustain these partnerships.
In September 2024, AIC launched an international tree-planting campaign during the “Season of Creation.” Volunteers from 20 groups in 15 countries planted fruit, medicinal, and ornamental trees, working with communities, schools, and the Vincentian Family. The goal: to protect the Earth and improve quality of life for present and future generations.
Florence tells us with great enthusiasm about the beginnings of the project, the cooperation with secondary school pupils and her desire to help mothers open up to the world.

The “Ladies of Charity Miami,” a volunteer group founded in 2019, support migrants from Central America and other regions through educational programs, financial and food aid, and psychological support. Founded in 2003 to support vulnerable women in the city of Taitung, AIC Taiwan has since spread its activities in the south-east of the country, to Donghe and Haiduan Townships and the Changbin Area.
The community orchard project in Yaoundé, set up by 15 AIC volunteers as well as volunteer agricultural engineers and technicians, consists in creating and maintaining a nursery of 2,000 fruit trees (avocado, plum, orange and mandarin).
On August 23, 1617, St. Vincent founded the first Confraternity of Charity– the “Ladies of Charity”– in Châtillon, France.

On June 5, the SSND Educational Center in Woodhaven, Queens NY held a ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of 100 women, and the faculty who accompanied them, in achieving various levels of English speaking and writing skills, math and civics.
