Reem Gonçalves testified in the October 2025 issue of the Anizan Fraternity Bulletin about the dignity that she and her family are working to maintain despite the chaos and war situation in Palestine, in the Holy Land, particularly against the Latin Parish of the Holy Family in Gaza, which is being bombed, massacred, and starved.

Sister Susan renews fundraising for Gaza amid worsening conditions, directing all donations to the Pontifical Mission, trusted for decades in the Holy Land. Their recent aid includes food, tents, water, hygiene kits, medical equipment, and financial help for families. She assures donors that every contribution reaches Gaza’s poorest.

The provincial superior of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne Antide Thouret of the East – Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia, all countries involved in armed conflicts and in a situation of deep social crisis – shared her moving and hopeful testimony during the opening vigil of the Jubilee of Consecrated Life on 8 October 2025 in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Dr. Refaat Alathamna, a Bolivian-Palestinian anesthesiologist in Gaza, struggles to protect his five children while treating patients amid war. Displaced multiple times, he survives on donations, without salary or state aid. He appeals for a humanitarian corridor to escape, stressing his neutrality and his mission: saving lives, feeding his family, and holding on to hope.

In March 2025, Father Tomaž Mavrič visited Ukraine to support the Vincentian communities working amidst the ongoing war. His journey highlighted the resilience of the people, the dedication of the Vincentians, and the urgent need for global solidarity in the face of a continuing humanitarian crisis.
