by Pat Griffin, CM | December 3, 2025 | Reflections | 0 Comments
John the Baptist holds an important place in our Advent preparations. For most of us, the most common instruction that we hear from John at this time is that simple “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”

The Vincentian Family is called to face the present with prayerful awareness, uniting contemplation and action for those on the margins. It recalls Vincent’s vision of justice through service and highlights key priorities: clear mission, systemic change, collaboration, formation, empowered leadership, and strong belonging to the shared charism.

by Tom McKenna, CM | Nov 26, 2025 | Reflections
While the Scriptures shed light on every age group, there are passages which are tailored to one particular life stage.

Waiting, Waiting (Ex 17: 8-13: Lk 18:1-8)
by Tom McKenna, CM | Nov 12, 2025 | Reflections
If asked the question, “Have you ever been disappointed in God?” I suspect there might be one or two hands raised — or maybe even all of our hands!
Reward after Tough Times of Crisis
by Ross Reyes Dizon | Nov 11, 2025 | Reflections
Loving us to the end, Jesus makes known what to be steadfast to the end means to win the reward of salvation. Jesus tells his disciples that, since they suffer for his sake, their reward is great in heaven. And in today’s gospel, he says to them that they...
Apostolic Exhortation “Dilexit te”: Reflection on Chapter IV
by .famvin | Nov 7, 2025 | Pope, Reflections
Chapter IV of “Dilexi te” traces the history of the Social Doctrine of the Church, from Rerum novarum to the present day, showing that the poor are active subjects of faith and thought. It affirms that the Church is only faithful to Christ when it shares their destiny and that charity, a transforming force, must heal the structural causes of poverty.

Union of All God’s Sons and Daughters
by Ross Reyes Dizon | Nov 4, 2025 | Reflections
The body of Jesus is the temple that human hands did not build. It is the cause and the sign of the union of all God’s sons and daughters. Today’s gospel says that the temple that Jesus speaks of is his body. And this is a hint that he puts an end to division and...
Apostolic Exhortation “Dilexit te”: Reflection on Chapter III
by .famvin | Oct 31, 2025 | Pope, Reflections
Chapter III of “Dilexi te” describes the Church as a servant of the poor, inheriting a history of compassion that heals, liberates, and educates. From the earliest Christians to the present day, charity is revealed as a sign of the Kingdom: touching the suffering flesh of Christ in the marginalized and making faith a concrete and transformative act of love.
Keep the Fire Burning to Be Pilgrims of Hope: Reflection #2
by Vincentian Family Office | Oct 30, 2025 | Famvin 2024, Formation, Reflections
This month we reflect on the origins and growth of the Vincentian Family. Since 1995, when Fr. Maloney invited the four historical branches to meet annually, a new chapter began. Today, 180 branches serve in 167 countries, united by the charism of St. Vincent de Paul. We celebrate our achievements, collaboration, and ongoing formation, while renewing our call to serve with hope and commitment.
Sounding Through (Lk 10:17-24)
by Tom McKenna, CM | Oct 29, 2025 | Reflections
I remember preaching a Sunday homily and having a number of people come up to me after to say how much they liked it. I recall going back to my Community house and at dinner letting everyone know how well my sermon was received and the applause it got.
