At Easter, the Vincentian Family is called to live resurrection through renewed mission and flexible, mission-centered structures. By strengthening councils, formation, communication, and youth engagement, and placing the poor at the center, the Family ensures its charism is shared, collaborative, and responsive worldwide.
The Vincentian charism today calls for adapting ministry to new forms of poverty through creativity and collaboration. Organized charity seeks systemic change that transforms structures and promotes dignity. It is a long process requiring communal discernment and celebrating each step forward.
As Lent ends and the Fifth Centenary begins, the Vincentian Family is called to renew its shared charism through prayer, collaboration, and synodal leadership. Embracing diversity across branches, engaging youth, and fostering systemic change, it seeks to incarnate the Spirit’s guidance in creative, prophetic service to the poor worldwide.
After the Jubilee of Hope, Lent invites the Vincentian Family to renew its mission: to continue Jesus’ work among the poor with humility. The centenary calls us to live the charism as a gift, avoiding pride, and to serve with active charity, trusting in God’s fidelity.
Effective communication is essential to strengthen relationships and collaboration within the Vincentian Family. Storytelling, especially when it comes from those experiencing poverty, gives voice, builds commitment, and makes the mission visible. Technology must be used ethically, fostering dialogue and solidarity, and promoting global networks that share experiences, defend human dignity, and multiply the impact of the Vincentian charism.
On January 29 and 30, 2026, meetings of the CIEV and the Vincentian Family were held in Puerto Rico, focused on Vincentian pedagogy, discernment, educational mission, and the renewal of the charism in response to today’s challenges, lived in a spirit of fraternity and hope.
The Vincentian Family is called to face the present with prayerful awareness, uniting contemplation and action for those on the margins. It recalls Vincent’s vision of justice through service and highlights key priorities: clear mission, systemic change, collaboration, formation, empowered leadership, and strong belonging to the shared charism.
As we approach November 22, the international Vincentian Family is preparing to celebrate a special milestone: the 10th Anniversary of the Vincentian Family Office. The events will be livestreamed on YouTube.
The Vincentian Family Office reminds young people of its International Storytelling Contest — a creative opportunity to show how Vincentian saints are still alive today. The deadline for video submissions has been extended to November 14, 2025. There’s still time to join!
This month we reflect on the origins and growth of the Vincentian Family. Since 1995, when Fr. Maloney invited the four historical branches to meet annually, a new chapter began. Today, 180 branches serve in 167 countries, united by the charism of St. Vincent de Paul. We celebrate our achievements, collaboration, and ongoing formation, while renewing our call to serve with hope and commitment.

This month, and for the remainder of this year (2025) and most of next year (2026), the monthly reflection will focus on the Final Document of the II International Convocation that was held in Rome during the month of November 2024.
