NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2026) — Niagara University will celebrate its Vincentian heritage and mission during Vincentian Heritage Week, Sept. 20-27, as part of the university’s 170th anniversary celebration.
This year’s Heritage Week theme, “Celebrating Our Heritage of Vincentian Values and Education,” highlights the university’s longstanding commitment to the values and educational mission rooted in its Vincentian tradition.
A new addition to this year’s celebration is Vincentian Mission Day, which will take place Wednesday, Sept. 23. The day will provide students, faculty, and staff with opportunities to learn more about Niagara’s Vincentian mission through presentations, workshops, and interactive learning experiences.
Throughout the day, faculty and staff from across the university will lead a variety of mission-focused programs designed to encourage discussion, reflection and engagement with Niagara’s Vincentian identity.
All classes beginning before 4 p.m. on Sept. 23 will not meet for their regularly scheduled sessions. Instead, students will select from the day’s activities and participate in programs that connect their academic and campus experiences to Niagara’s Vincentian mission. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to attend.
Vincentian Heritage Week activities will continue throughout the week, offering additional opportunities for the Niagara community to celebrate the university’s history and the values that have guided it for 170 years.
