Beyond the World’s Thinking, Feeling and Doing

    by Ross Reyes Dizon | Sep 15, 2026 | Reflections | 1 comment

Jesus makes known how good God is in a free and unfathomable way.  It is hard for us to grasp what he lets us know.  For it is beyond what we usually see and hear in the world.

We hear that God’s ways and thoughts are beyond our human ways and thoughts.  That is why he is generous in forgiving at the same time that he is mad in forgiving.

And that is why he makes equal those who are not so religious (the last) to those who are very religious (the first).  It appears that the merits of folks do not matter to God.  What matters to him is that no one misses out on God’s free and unfathomable love, compassion.

No, we are not few, those of us who still make use of our calculations that are stingy.  For we think that there are those who do not deserve God’s love and compassion.  We hope and even expect that God gives to each one what one deserves and just what one deserves.  Thus, we try not to let God be good to all freely and unfathomably.

Yet God is in another world, to which Jesus seeks to bring us.  God is “in a world of generosity, over-the-top giving, boundless favor, unmerited and freely bestowed.”  Luckily, yes, God’s thinking, feeling and doing is beyond our thinking, feeling and doing.

Lord Jesus, grant us to think, feel, and do as you.  Thus, we will get to go beyond the thinking, feeling and doing of the world.  Make us conduct ourselves in a way worthy of your Good News.  And conform to what you say and not to the opposite that the world says (SV.EN XII:102-103).  Let us hunger and thirst for justice to the point even of giving up our bodies and shedding our blood for others.
