Today, September 13, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for families with children receiving long-term hospital care.
When a child requires months or years of medical treatment, the whole family is affected. Parents may leave work, travel long distances, face financial pressure, and live with constant uncertainty. Siblings may struggle with fear, confusion, or the absence of those they love.
Hospital rooms can become places of waiting, exhaustion, and fragile hope. In such moments, compassionate care means attending not only to the child’s illness but also to the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of the entire family.
The Vincentian tradition calls us to serve the sick with tenderness and respect. It also reminds us that no family should face prolonged illness alone.
We pray today for children in long-term hospital care and for those who remain beside them. May medical teams receive wisdom and strength. May families find financial assistance, emotional support, rest, and communities willing to accompany them faithfully.
Word of God
“I was sick and you took care of me.”
(Matthew 25:36)
Prayer
Jesus, healer and companion, remain close to children receiving long-term care and to the families who wait beside them. Give them courage, patience, and hope, and surround them with people who offer faithful and practical support. Amen.
