Today, September 7, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for forgiveness and healing in divided families.
Family divisions can leave deep and lasting wounds. Harsh words, betrayal, misunderstandings, inheritance disputes, ideological differences, or years of silence can separate people who once shared affection and trust.
Forgiveness does not deny the harm that has been done, nor does it require anyone to remain in an unsafe situation. It is a path toward freedom, truth, and healing. Reconciliation may take time, and sometimes it begins with the willingness to listen or to take one small step toward peace.
Saint Vincent encouraged patience, humility, and gentleness in relationships. He knew that unity cannot be imposed but must be cultivated through truth and charity.
We pray today for families divided by conflict. May wounded hearts receive healing, those who have caused harm accept responsibility, and those seeking reconciliation find wisdom and courage. May every family discover new ways to speak, listen, and begin again.
Word of God
“Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other.”
(Colossians 3:13)
Prayer
God of reconciliation, enter the places of silence and pain within divided families. Heal what has been broken, guide difficult conversations, and lead each person toward truth, mercy, and peace. Amen.
