Today, September 5, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for those alienated by the digital economy.
The digital economy has created new opportunities, but it has also left many people behind. Those without internet access, technological skills, secure employment, or modern devices can become excluded from work, banking, public services, education, and social participation.
Others labor invisibly behind screens, controlled by algorithms they do not understand and systems that offer little stability or human contact. Progress that excludes the poor is not genuine progress.
As Vincentians, we are called to place technology at the service of people, especially those most likely to be forgotten. We pray today for workers, older adults, rural communities, and low-income families who feel displaced or invisible in an increasingly digital world.
May governments, businesses, and institutions build accessible systems, provide meaningful training, and protect human dignity. May technology connect rather than isolate, empower rather than control, and serve the common good rather than deepen inequality.
Word of God
“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
(Hebrews 13:16)
Prayer
God of wisdom, guide the digital transformation of our world. Protect those left behind, defend workers from exploitation, and inspire technologies that promote participation, justice, and genuine human connection. Amen.
