Today, August 21, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for communities healing from environmental disasters.

Floods, wildfires, droughts, hurricanes, and other environmental disasters leave deep wounds in communities. Homes are destroyed, livelihoods are lost, and many people face uncertainty about the future.

In the midst of such suffering, we witness remarkable acts of solidarity. Neighbors help neighbors, strangers become companions, and hope emerges even from devastation.

As Vincentians, we are called to accompany those affected by disaster, not only in moments of emergency but also during the long process of rebuilding.

We pray today for all communities recovering from environmental disasters. May they receive the support, resources, and encouragement they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Word of God

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
(Psalm 46:1)

Prayer

God of compassion, be close to all who suffer the consequences of environmental disasters. Strengthen those who rebuild, comfort those who mourn, and inspire us to stand in solidarity with those in need. Amen.
