Today, August 19, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for meaningful alternatives to incarceration.
Many people become trapped in cycles of crime, poverty, addiction, and exclusion. While society must protect the common good, true justice also seeks rehabilitation, restoration, and hope.
Programs that promote education, treatment, reconciliation, and community support can help individuals rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.
As Vincentians, we believe in the dignity of every person and in the possibility of conversion and renewal.
We pray today for justice systems that balance accountability with mercy, and for all who work to offer meaningful alternatives to incarceration.
Word of God
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”
(Luke 6:36)
Prayer
God of mercy, inspire leaders to seek justice that heals rather than merely punishes. Open paths of restoration and hope for all who long for a new beginning. Amen.
