Today, August 7, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for those enduring discrimination because of their physical appearance.

Too many people are judged by their appearance rather than by the dignity they possess as children of God. Such discrimination wounds self-esteem, isolates individuals, and weakens communities.

The Gospel reminds us that God looks upon the heart. Saint Vincent recognized Christ in every person, especially those whom society ignored or rejected.

We pray today for those who suffer prejudice because of their appearance. May they know their true worth in God’s eyes, and may society learn to value persons for who they are rather than how they look.

“The Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
(1 Samuel 16:7)

Prayer

God of love, help us see one another with Your eyes. Free us from prejudice and teach us to honor the dignity and beauty present in every human being. Amen.
