Today, August 2, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for children born in prisons or detention centers.
Every child is a gift from God and deserves to grow in safety, love, and hope. Yet some begin life behind walls and fences, surrounded by circumstances they did not choose.
As followers of Christ, we recognize the dignity of every child and the responsibility of society to protect the most vulnerable. No child should be deprived of affection, opportunity, or the chance to flourish.
We pray today for children born in prisons and detention centers, for their parents, and for all who work to support them. May these children be surrounded by care and provided with opportunities to grow in freedom and dignity.
Word of God
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them.”
(Mark 10:14)
Prayer
God of mercy, watch over every child living in difficult circumstances. Protect them from harm, surround them with love, and open paths toward a future filled with hope. Amen.
