Beginning this September, famvin.org will launch a new monthly editorial series exploring the most pressing challenges facing our world through the eyes of the Vincentian Family. Rooted in the Gospel and inspired by the charism of Saint Vincent de Paul, these reflections will examine the realities that shape our societies while highlighting the countless ways Vincentians are already responding with compassion, justice, and hope.

A New Monthly Approach to FAMVIN Begins This September

Every day, the headlines remind us that our world is carrying heavy burdens.

Communities are divided by conflict. Families struggle under growing economic pressure. Millions are forced to leave their homes. Human dignity is threatened by violence, exclusion, and exploitation. New technologies raise difficult ethical questions. Creation, itself. cries out under the weight of environmental degradation. Behind every news report are real people—our brothers and sisters—whose lives are marked by suffering, uncertainty, and hope. And behind those stories of suffering, there are also consistent, compassionate, transformative testimonies of the Vincentian charism ever renewing our world.

As members of the Vincentian Family, we are not indifferent. Vincentians around the globe are not just observing the world from a distance. They are looking with eyes open wide, listening carefully to the cries of those who suffer and  responding with hearts full of charity and hands ready for service. Following  Jesus Christ, they  are entering the places where human dignity is wounded and where hope is most urgently needed. They are living the same spirit of Saint Vincent, Saint Louise, Frederic Ozanam and many more Vincentians.

Beginning this September, famvin.org will introduce  you to a new monthly editorial series dedicated to these realities. Each editorial will look beyond the headlines. It will begin by examining one of the major issues shaping our contemporary world—not through political slogans or ideological arguments, but through careful attention to the human experience behind the news.

Most importantly, every editorial will highlight something that is often missing from public discussion: the extraordinary work already being carried out by members of the Vincentian Family throughout the world.  These stories deserve to be known—not to celebrate ourselves, but to demonstrate that the Gospel continues to inspire concrete action in every corner of the world.

This new series is therefore an invitation.

An invitation to reflect more deeply.

An invitation to recognize the signs of the times.

An invitation to discover how Vincentian spirituality speaks powerfully to today’s most urgent questions.

And an invitation to celebrate the countless ways our worldwide family continues to serve Christ in those who are poor, excluded, and vulnerable.

The conversations ahead may challenge us. They may surprise us. At times they may even make us uncomfortable.

That is exactly where the Gospel often begins.

This September, we invite you to join us as we begin this new journey together. Month after month, we will explore the realities shaping our world, discover the enduring wisdom of the Vincentian charism, and celebrate the many ways our global family continues to bring hope where hope is needed most.

The world is asking difficult questions. Together, let us discover how the Vincentian Family continues to answer them—not only with words, but with lives of service, compassion, and love.
