Dear Vincentian Family Member from Asia,

May the joy and peace of the Lord be always with you!

We, the members of the Organizing Committee, are preparing to welcome you to South Korea for Vincentian Youth Day 2027, immediately followed by World Youth Day. These events are scheduled to run from 31 July to 8 August 2027.

We would like to introduce ourselves to you:

• Our South Korean Members: Sister Cleopha, Moon (SCV), Sister Stella Kim (DC), Sister Min Ah Ahn (SCSH), Mr. Benedict Park (SSVP) and Ms. Yeona Magdalena.
• From the larger Vincentian Family: Ms. Marie Claire Balo (Philippines, MY). Mr. Daniel Kuenzel (Philippines / USA, VMY), Mr. Nguyen Cong Thanh (Joseph) (Philippines / Vietnam, AMM / VMY), Mr. Jacky Cheung (Hong Kong, SSVP), Mr. JB Tuan (Vietnam, VMY), Father Habel Melki Makarius, CM (Indonesia), and Father Joseph Agostino, CM (United States).

It has been our pleasure to serve you. And we are excited to meet you in person!

Our Vincentian (VYD) gathering will take place in the Gyeonggi Youth Center, located in the Diocese of Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. The theme for our event is: “Vincentian Charity: Finding Courage Among the Poor.”  Beginning in mid-October, you will be receiving monthly catechetical reflections to help you prepare for these special days.  We will say more about this later.

From time to time, we will send you letters with important information about your stay. This information will also be available on the FamVin app, which you can download for iPhone or Android from your usual app store. Please download the app before you arrive, as our event will be paperless and everything you need will be available there.

We are awaiting registration information from the Bishops of South Korea. Our goal is for you to complete just one form to register for both VYD and WYD. The current estimated cost for accommodation, lodging, meals, and related expenses for the full period from 31 July to 9 August is $500 USD per person. We are also planning to reserve space in Seoul for the entire group and are waiting to learn whether group rates will be available. Once we receive this information, we will begin the formal registration process

If you plan to attend and need a visa, we are prepared to send you a template invitation letter. Please note that obtaining the visa and paying any related fees are your responsibility.
