Today, July 14, 2026, we, the members of the Vincentian Family, pray for people burdened by cultural expectations of silence.
In many cultures and families, people are taught to remain silent about suffering, abuse, grief, or injustice.
Fear, shame, or social pressure can prevent individuals from seeking help or speaking the truth.
As Vincentians, we are called to create communities where people can speak freely and be treated with dignity and compassion.
We pray today for all who carry hidden pain behind forced silence. May they find safe spaces, listening hearts, and the courage to seek healing.
Word of God
“There is a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:7)
Prayer
God of compassion, give voice to those who feel silenced. Make us gentle listeners and trustworthy companions for those who suffer in secret. Amen.
